Call for Abstracts

Thank you for your interest in presenting at the 2026 Rabies in the Americas (RITA) Conference, taking place October 18–23, 2026, in Tempe, Arizona, primarily at the Arizona State University Memorial Union.

RITA is one of the world's leading forums for rabies research, surveillance, prevention, control, and elimination. Each year, the conference brings together researchers, public health professionals, veterinarians, laboratory scientists, wildlife biologists, program managers, policymakers, and other experts from across the Americas and around the globe to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and advance rabies prevention efforts.

Authors are invited to submit original research, programmatic updates, case studies, surveillance findings, policy initiatives, and innovative approaches related to rabies and related zoonotic diseases. All submissions will undergo peer review and will be considered for oral or poster presentation.

Please complete all required fields and upload your abstract for review. Abstracts should clearly describe the objectives, methods, results, and significance of the work being presented.

Review Criteria

Each abstract will be evaluated by reviewers using a scale of 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest) in the following categories:

Responsive to the Topic Area
How well the submission aligns with the selected topic area and conference objectives.

Overall Impact
The potential contribution of the work to advancing rabies research, surveillance, prevention, control, policy, or public health practice.

Innovation
The originality, creativity, or novel application of methods, technologies, partnerships, or approaches presented in the submission.
